Good morning!
We're up, we're showered, we're dressed and fed - and nothing to do...
I've got a bit of washing and some floors to clean, and that'll take a whole of an hour! So what's a family to do?
It's going to be a warm 29 today, I think it's still a bit cool for a swim - mind you, the kids would swim in the antarctic if given the chance!!
I might see if Amie and the Kirkie's are doing anything today, we might go over there for a visit. (they live near Kilcoy, about a 35-40 min drive from here)
I also have to get to the shops a buy some 'nit stuff' - yes, nit stuff.
We got a letter back from the school (danielle's class) explaining that there is a BIG nit problem.
"If your child does not have nits now, he/she will not doubt catch them soon"
Dani hasn't been scratching, but I thought i'd do a little treatment on both girls before Monday. Bloody nits - who invented them??
Molly is over her tummy bug, but I don't think Dani's better yet.
I remember someone telling me (could've been mum) that once your kids start school, they will catch anything and everything that's going around. I don't understand how parents can send their very sick kids to school and not teach them the importance of covering their mouths to cough or sneeze. Some of these kids at school can't even function properly, they're that sick, and their parents still send them. I think it's wrong, not just for being contagious, but for those poor kids that need to be in bed.
I've got a feeling that I am probably only one of about 10 parents that will actually treat kids for lice this weekend, and the kids that are nit-infested will return to school Monday, with out having their heads done. I guess I shouldn't be cranky with the kids, it's the parents.
Speaking of the parents, I got to school the other morning and took Dani into her class, and this little boy was going through his lunch bag and in it was a can of coke, and an old chinese container of fried rice. There's no fridges in kindy, i'm suprised that poor little kid didn't wind up with food poisoning. Where are their brains???
Danielle has been getting awards every week for having healthy lunches, and it's not hard to pack an apple, is it?
There - it's off my chest. What a bunch of morons.
Wow, i got totally side tracked - I was telling you what we might do this weekend.
Ok, so we might stay home, we might go visiting, we may just do a little bit of cooking. Have a look at this recipe I found..... I love the idea that you can make your own little holders out of bread! How cute do they look? I bet you could put all sorts of fillings in them. I also found a chicken, leek and asparagus recipe that i might try with them...
Have a very lovely weekend everyone!
