I'm not sure if you ever read Jessie's site or not, but you have to go read this post....... I laughed so hard that i'm sure my coffee came out my nose!!

Townsville

Let me tell you about our trip to Townsville!

What a FABULOUS weekend.... I wish I took more photos though.

We left here on Friday morning at 6am. Drove to Rockhampton for lunch (606 kms) Then drove to Mackay for the night (337 kms) I think we arrived in Mackay at 5:30 - 6pm - just in time for dinner. Aunty Jan was there for the night too, so we spent a little while with her, and organised to travel with her to Townsville.

I called Scott to let him know that I was going to set my alarm for 5am, and leave at 6 - but we decided that there wasn't any rush, and just leave when we were ready, so i turned the alarm off, and we were all asleep by 8:30. At 10:30 I felt a very warm sensation on my arm, and realised that Danielle was weeing on me! I flew out of bed (can't believe I didn't wake Molly & Hallie) I think i was yelling, infact I'm certain that I was yelling. I put Dani into the other bed.

We woke up at 7 on Saturday morning, had our breakfast, our showers, packed the car & were gone by 8. Aunty Jan & Peter left at 7, so we didn't get to travel with them.

We drove into Townsville at 12:30 (389 ks) - We went straight to our friends from Cobar (the Macdonalds) where Scott was staying. They had 2 acres of FUN FUN FUN. The kids had so much fun, they went swimming, bike riding, exploring & god knows what else! I left Scott, Hallie & Dani there, and Molly & I went in to Jupiters to see Mum & Nan.

On Sat night, we had a BBQ at the Macdonalds farm (e i e i o) haha - couldn't resist that one!!

On Sunday, we got into Jupiters with all the kids, had our showers, got dressed & went to the wedding, which they had at the gardens - beautiful - except for the leaky pipes in the grass where all the guests seats were (alot of great shoes would have been ruined!)

So the wedding was lovely - the reception was great! The kids slept out at the Mcdonalds & Scott and I stayed in at Jupiters, except it wasn't as romantic as we had hoped - by the time we got back to our room, I was SICK, very sick....LOL isn't that always the way!!

On Monday, the girls and I spent the morning at the Reef HQ, a great aquarium. There was so many of us, it was awesome. We went with Mum, Nan, David, Bethany, Stuart, Aunty Kerry & Uncle Glen, Aunty Jan & Uncle Peter, Rhianna, Phil & kids. They all loved it!

By the time I went out to pick up Scott, he'd done all our washing, and packed all our stuff up, so all we had to do was pack the car and get going. We left there at 4:30, drove an hour - fed the kids and ourselves, then took off. We did 1300kms in 14 hours, getting home at 6:30am yesterday.

*Updated - Scott insited that I re-phrase the 'WE' did 1300kms. Sorry Scott - YOU drove 1300kms, and i was as useless to you as boobies on a bull..... LOL

The kids went to school, and i put Molly down, scott & I had a sleep too & we all woke at midday. Molly was so buggered, she slept most of the day, all night & she's still asleep now!!

Our next holiday (to Broken Hill) isn't until September, so we have another 10 weeks to recover!

Hi everyone...

We are all packed and ready to go to Townsville in the morning!

The kids (and I) are SO excited to see everyone.

This is just a quick one.....

WE'RE GOING TO TOWNSVILLE.....!!!

We were invited to my Uncle David's wedding in Townsville, and we had to decline due to kids, money, scott's work etc. But since we don't have to send the kids to Grant's for the school holidays, and we've saved a bit on $$ - We get to go!

Scott finishes work on Thursday morning, and we'll be driving up on Friday. A whopping 1300kms.
I'm going to poke along on Fri, stay the night somewhere, then meet up with Scott on Sat.
We are staying with friends of ours (originally from Cobar)

And the best thing..... Mummy will be flying in with Nan, lunch time on sat!!!!

The wedding is on Sunday night. Woohoo - Townsville here we come!

Just thought I'd share my 'highlight' with you all...

6 months gone

Where did the last 6 months go?

I often sit and think about things that i want to write about on my blog, but when i'm sitting here on the computer, my mind goes blank.

I want to talk about the last 6 months of my life - a reflection really.
Our lives have changed so much this year. We've moved states, Scott's changed jobs, Hallie has changed schools, Dani has started school & Lucy has changed homes.

Moving states wasn't as challenging as i thought it would be. It was actually refreshing - a new start. We have dad's family about 45 mins away on the sunshine coast, so we try to get over every month or so, to catch up with everyone. I have a few cousins in Brisbane, but have only caught up with Heidi so far. We also have friends from Cobar, (we all worked at the same mine) they live only 2 minutes away, and we see them most days, it's great to have them here.

Scott started work with a mining contractor when we first got here, but wasn't impressed with the safety at the mine, so applied for a job with BHP, and was hired immeditely. I know this would have been pretty stressful for him, but he'd never show it. That's what i love about him. He doesn't burden me with his worries (unlike me!) He's really ejoying working with BHP, he has a few guys from Cobar that he is working with and the roser is 7 on / 7 off - so he's never away too long!

The next 6 months?
What will it bring? Who knows! I just want to accomplish something before the year is out, that's all
