School holidays

Afternoon all...

I get really slack posting when Scott's home, sorry 'bout that.
We've just dropped him off at the airport, and now i'm desperately trying to find things for the kids to do. They're out the back playing with the doggies now that the rain has finally stopped.
We had 2 non-stop rainy days and today is still very cold, but the sun is shining and i don't think there is any more rain forcasted for this week.

Roz asked me yesterday if she could have Hallie at her place for the afternoon, as her daughter Brianna (21 months old) is still in her cast and was getting very lonely playing on her own. So we dropped Hallie off at 12:30 yesterday, then met Roz, Craig & the kids at 5:30 for dinner at the 'local' here in D-Bay. We didn't even know that it exsisted until the other day, it's nestled between the drive-through bottle shop and the plaza. What a find!
The kids meals started from $1.50 - I kid you not... It was a beautiful little feed, and a lovely spot to take the kids, so a big thumbs up from us!
After we all ate, we decided to swing by our house & put the kids into their PJ's and go back up to Roz's house for a 'quiet one'. The kids ALL went straight to sleep and we had a few drinks, then Roz pulled out a deck of cards and taught Scott & I how to play 'Damn it' - it was like a game of 500 (sort of) and bloody hell, I have never laughed so much in my whole life. It was such a great night, we never get to do that.
We packed the cards up and went to bed at 2am, Molly woke at 6:30 & we snuck everyone out to the car and came home. We ran around & did our last minute jobs, then took Scott to the airport.
I am SO tired.... An early night for us tonight.

Hope you are all well. I will plan some 'holiday activities' for the kids and take some photos to put on here. Promise!

Love and sweet dreams xx

Thanks to Jodie!

Hello & a very happy afternoon to everyone!

I've been reading Jodie's Blog for a little while now, and if you've popped over there, you'll see all her beautiful projects, from knitting to building gardern sheds!

Jodie had her baby girl 3 days before Molly was born. We have been friends since the start of highschool & she's still one of my closest friends, so it's nice to check out all her pictures & projects.

Which brings me to the point of this post - I couldn't help myself... I have been looking at all her gorgeous beanies and things (wishing that I could knit) when I decided today was the day I will learn how to knit. I went to Kmart & picked up some wool, needles and 2 beautiful books for beginners.

I will try a scarf to begin with & see how I go.

Below, are the fabulous little bubby out-fits (complete with beanies & booties) that I will pass on to someone to make for me! haha, bet you thought I was going to say that i'd attempt to make them myself..... haha. Maybe my nan can do them for me!

Love and knitting needles!

Hallie's birthday!

Wow, what a day!
We just had so much fun, but really died in the butt by about 5pm. We had the Kirkie girls till just after 6 last night, then we were getting ready for bed when Janaya called. 2 minutes later, my mobile rang & it was Brocky, while i was talking to him Beck called, then while i was talking to Beck, Jessie called... Whoa! I don't think my phone has ever rang that much....

So anyway, Hallie had a great day, she got some great presents from everyone!

Mumma & Papa got her a beautiful Bratz bedspread and sheets and some other little presents.

We got her a desk for her room and a little 'office chair'.

She got 3 bead sets from Grant and his mother, and all the kids made heaps of necklaces and earrings etc! They had a ball.

So here's the rest of the photos!

We had SO much fun yesterday, although I didn't tell you about the night before!
I didn't get myself to bed till 10:30 on Sat night, then at 11 - Molly woke, 11:30 - Roxy barked, 12- Molly woke, and this continued till 4:30.

I remember climbing back into bed each time thinking "oh, this can't be happening...... I'm so tired"
Then at 5:30, Roxy barked and woke everyone! Up and at 'em at 5:30am.

I had everyone fed, dressed and hair done by 7 & the strangest thing was, at 7, it felt like 9. So by 10:30, I was all played out and wanting to get their party lunch ready. So I had to try and kill a few hours. That's really hard when you've played every game (twice).

So we put Molly down, got out 2 of the bead sets Hallie had got from Grant, and got comfy on the loungeroom floor. Part of me thought "4 kids, 3000 beads - total disaster" But it went really well.
Hallie made a very random necklace, it was really pretty. Dani's was nice, she included the first letter of everyone's name into her piece (& I mean everyone!!)

Jorja made the most beautiful necklace, with perfect symmetry - it was better than any 'store bought' neclace i've seen (see pic of Jorja)
Hollie made, and dropped quite alot of peices, there was keyrings, bangles, necklaces and clip on earrings - she had a ball.

So that bought us right up to 12 - and i sat them up to the table to wait for Hallie's friend Tanika, and Roz was also bringing Brianna up.
Roz arrived ay 12:45 with the most beautiful savoury numbers (puff pastry cups with vegie stuff inside - YUM) and home made spring rolls (also very yummy) and by that time, the kids had eaten far too many chips and lollies, and didn't want lunch. Oops.

They all played, and played until it was time for cake (2pm-ish)
After cake, we all sat infront of the tv for a bit of quiet time (more for 'ME'..... I was wrecked)

Roz and Brianna left just before 3, Tanika left just after 3, and Amie picked up the girls at 6.

After we put Molly down and had a few phonecalls, Hallie, Dani & I fell into bed and had a wonderful 10 hours of uninterupted sleep.

Today, my house is such a mess - and I don't know where to start. I'll get it done, slowly but surely.
It looks like it's going to rain soon, and it's so cold here!

Bye for today - & love to you all.

Birthday Eve

I hope you've all had a wonderful day today - we sure have!
Today was going to be my day for cleaning, washing, and a little bit of shopping. But all I did was the little shop. Oops!

We went out to pick up Jorja & Hollie for a sleepover tonight and got back here right on dinner time, so we fed the doggies and then fed the kids. Nachos - easy huh!

After dinner, I threw all the kiddies into the bath,

Then pj's, then a movie.

Hollie and Dani got comfy watching Dora

Then they all wanted ice-cream, so we did that - then I was like, Ok girls, definately bedtime now (right after I get a group piccy)

After I got them all settled, I started on Hallie's cake. PLEASE don't laugh at my cake! I can't make cakes for crap, so I bought a few square sponges and thought I could whip something up no problems, can't be that hard, right? WRONG. I thought about this cute little design in my head.

Hearts - 2 of them. One big, and the smaller one on top. 2 different shades of pink. Smarties. Piece of cake! (pardon the pun) So, anyway. I cut out my hearts. Crap. Thought my beautiful icing should fix that up real nice.

Then came the icing. Who the bloody hell doesn't know how to make icing?? A quick call to Mummy, and I was on my way again. Too runny. First heart crap. Thought I'd learnt by my mistake with the 2nd lot of icing, and i tell you , it wasn't much better!!!! LOL

Ok, so I've put my two hearts together (crooked) and stood back to have a real good look at my masterpeice. Jorja was standing with me, like 2 old ladies checking out a bingo hall, and after a few minutes, I just cracked up laughing. Poor ol Jorja said "it's pretty, I like it". Bless her!

So you want to see a photo huh? I called mum after I made it and said that i might 'blog' it, but then said, "oh, you know what? I might just e-mail you a pic, and leave it out of the blog". LOL

Ok, here goes......... Some random shots. Remember that they are supposed to be heart-shaped. My first (and probably final) attempt at a cake deco

Oh well, at least I had a go hey! I'll get the award for "She tried her best". haha.

So it's now 9:40 and I can hear little snores all through the house, so i think i might join them! I'll be posting more photos tomorrow night.

Love and Happy Birthdays xxoo

Long time , no see!

Good afternoon!!

I just got back from the airport, Scott starts dayshift tomorrow. He remembered to take his phone this time, and his phone works on the mine site, so Bell's - if you want to get in touch with him for anything, you can get him after 6:30pm this week.

We've had a quiet week. All have a touch of the flu (nothing too bad) and just getting over it, so we've had a really great rest this week. I have a few little snaps for you all...

Molly got a haircut thismorning (I called mum & told her that Molly had her toupee cutt off - LOL)

We also have a new edition to the family - Meet Harry.Roxy had her barking collar on for weeks, but was still barking alot, so we thought we'd try a companion for her - voila! It worked, Roxy is a new woman. She's been really great with the kids and is having so much fun playing with Harry! He is an 8 week old lab X wolfhound. Yes, he'll be monsterous, but he has that gentle labby nature.

We spent saturday night in Caloundra with Tim & Tamara, went out for dinner & watched uncle Chris play & had a few drinks back at their house, it is always nice to get away for a day - we had a ball. (we have photos of that, but they're stuck on Scott's phone - don't know how to get them off)

It's Hallie's birthday this Sunday (17th) She's turning 7. I can't believe it, she's so tall too, she comes up to my chin now!! We're having a small lunch on Sunday with a few people, so I'll post the piccies of that on Sunday night.

I'll leave you with a few other photos... Still no house pics - they're coming!

Love to you all xxoo

The weekend

What a weekend!
It rained all weekend, (which we can't complain about) but it left me with bored, fighting kids!
I tried to entertain them the best I could, but they just wouldn't stop fighting & whinging.
Hallie's going through a little 'bitchy' phase at the moment, i'm not really sure how to handle the situation. She back-chats everything I say & talks to me like I'm stupid - it's a bit hard to take.
I asked her to go and grab the basket of hair stuff today (which contains brushes, spray, hairbands and suncream) and she took the suncream out and left it in the bathroom. I asked her why she didn't leave it in there - her reply (said very sarcastic-like) "You didn't ask for the suncream".
She KNEW that would start a fight - why would she do that?
Last night, I started dinner - the usual rissoles, vegies and mash, and she rips out a tin of spaghetti.
I said "hallie, i'm cooking dinner" - her reply, "it'll probably be yucky anyway, so i don't want it".

Needless to say, she was a very hungry girl by bedtime!

I don't understand why she does this, and she only gets like this when i finally get Dani to listen etc.
So I'm faced with one naughty, one good. Never both at the same time.

It's getting mighty frustrating - mostly because i'm trying to get Molly down for a sleep & it seems like they scream and yell at each other, just to get up my nose. I don't know why - because I can get pretty cranky.?? Oh well. I'm sure Mum will be laughing, thinking it's de-ja-vu with Jessie & I.

Are boys like this? Pinny, did your boys bicker constantly?

Back to school today, maybe that might be the ticket - getting out of the house. Gee, i really hope so.

No photo's for this post - couldn't do much cleaning with the kids cooped up inside all weekend.

Happy birthday Sue-Ellen for the 1st - we hope you had a beautiful day!
